I gave up on this when I ran out of juice, haha. Also, I can't paint gold and I don't have the patience for all this insane amount of soft shading. It was really just me looking for an excuse to play with some new brushes, anyways.
Kara's one of my OC's that I don't know very well. I know she's a sweet person who cares a lot about other people and she rarely let's herself get upset. She loves Ainmire dearly and would do anything for him
I decided a long time ago when I made Kara that she'd be East Indian. Specifically, Hindu, but when I got this idea for a picture, I realized I didn't know anything about East Indian culture, despite growing up with it all around me.
I plan to change this, haha, but it was interesting. I did some research for this uhm.. not very successful painting, and I realized that the nose ring signifies a promise to Parvathi, the goddess of marriage and a girl is typically pierced when she turns sixteen, of marriageable age. The ring is often never removed after marriage, so it's sort of like our traditional wedding rings.
Well, at least that's the way it used to be, haha. Now days a lot of women wear them just for fashion, and not to signify and bond of marriage, or a religious tribute or anything like that.
Here's a preview of another picture I'm working on, but I ran out of painting mojo today. It's Suka, of course! Looking very loverly, if I do say so myself.
Don't worry, I won't break my arm as I pat myself on the back. Just playing with some new brushes, seeing what I can do when I experiment. What it's going to look like at the end, is that the part of Suka that is surrounded by blue is going to be painted up all soft and nice. However, the rest of her, trailing outside the blue, is going to blend into simpler shading. From detailed to vague. Inside the blue circle I'm going to paint some kind of landscape, just so I can do a little bit of painting.
Another experiment, just to see how things are going.
