Scant Collection

I haven't has as much time to draw lately as I wish I did, haha. Too much school, too much homework. I'm still writing though, so I'm keeping my creative brain busy.

Here's a drawing of Sherlock I made for Chelsea a few weeks ago while she was having a rough day. I gave him a little bit of a chin. He looks eighteen now.

Instead of sixteen.

Chelsea was happy.

That day, I'd decided I wanted to draw Sherry and Ninja, because I love them so much. So, in the afternoon class, I started to draw the couple of them.

It took me a while to find the time, but I eventually finished!

See? I'm not unfair to all of my characters. Just most of them.

So here, some Sherry and Ninja, havin' a moment.

For halloween this year, I dressed up as the doctor, from doctor who, and Leah was my companion.

We traveled all of space and time together and returned the same day we left! It is the advantage of having a TARDIS.

Later that night, I did up my makeup so I looked like a sugar skull for Day of the Dead.

It was a pretty kickin' halloween.

And a doodle of Alan and Rebel, just from my sketchbook.

I realized that even though Alan is Spanish, the goat I based his satyr appearance off of happens to be native to North America.

Oh well, it's a fantasy story.

And FINALLY working on getting some refined designs for the metal prosthetic one of my OC's has essentially drilled into her arm.

I gotta say, I'm having a ball coming up with all these designs and drawings.

Working out the mechanics is killing me though, haha! I'm sure there's a metal skeleton in there somewhere that holds it all together.

And hooray! All the work I have done lately.

I know, it isn't very much, I'm sad too.

Look at all the scribbles!

I realized I haven't posted in over a week!

Don't worry, it's not due to a lack of drawing; not at all! It's mostly just due to a lack of drawing anything I want to bother finishing. All of my recent finished work has been going towards my comic, and the rest of it is just doodles and fun stuff for me and for my friends. Not to mention I spent four days of last week busting my rear over fifteen hour shifts so I could pack away the over time! It was harsh.

More over time to come!

I cobbled the whole collection together into a sketch dump from yours truly! Some Sherry's, Tina's, Ninja's, Laurent's, Rebel's, Ain's, Kara's, me's, Kit's-

Yup, just a whole gobble-dee-gook collection of stuff.

Also, I'd like to take a moment to proudly show off the wonderful picture my dear friend Corrin drew for me!

Corrin likes Sherry's back story, and I'm a big fan of his sister Mel. Well, Melantho, I'm pretty sure you couldn't call her that without finding yourself eviscerated. As if that wasn't going to happen in the first place anyways.

But, she drew me this lovely picture while she was staying in Guelph with her boyfriend, Chris!

I have never had such sheer glee at a picture before.

Oh Sherry, I'm so sorry you had such a very rough half hour after hatching.

You did well for yourself.

Thank you Corrin!!

BOOM she says!

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd post some of the things I'd been drawing in my sketchbook.

So yay! Nothing special, I've got some Sariel, some Sherry, some Suka, some Kara, some Rebel-

I also drew Lance from Sym-Bionic Titan today, and Shannon, my friend and co-worker who just had her birthday on Friday!

Most of my work is going towards RISE lately, as I spent all last week developing and modifying my layout, as well as drawing my sixth page. You can check it out on the link to the right there, do enjoy!

So yay, it felt good to relax today and draw pointless doodles of pointlessness. Tomorrow I start back at work, bright and early, but that's cool, I love my job.

Enjoy!

Summer Kick Off

Okay, so it's summer time!! I haven't been able to upload anything, mostly because I went home to Orangeville and had no access to a scanner and I wasn't drawing. Instead I was just chilling at home, watching Star Trek with my brother and attempting to catch up with my friends. I reconnected with my best friend from middle school, and we guess that enough time has passed our friendship has patched itself up and we can start again. Pretty awesome, no?

On the drawing side of things, first off a reference sheet of an angel character of mine that I quite like. Her name is Sariel, and I had a lot of fun drawing her once I got into the swing of things! She's a timeless angel in a child's body; but don't mistake her for child. It. She doesn't have an actual gender.

Yesterday while I was waiting for the bus at the library, I drew this picture of an older Rebel and an older Ninja. I don't really draw them older, and I figured I should give it a go, because Ninja get's a little more level headed but still pesters poor Rebel something fierce. He's gotten even better at not being affected by her, despite the fact that he never was in the first place.

I imagine the sentence following is, "Picture this! You, me, and nothing to stand in the way! We could go clear across the continent from one ocean to the other, ahha!"

Oh Ninja. You're so positive, it makes me want to crush you in a hug and then slap you for being so irritating.

But you are lovely.

And of course, I missed my dear OC- So I decided to draw Suka. I started this while on the bus yesterday, and finished today. Originally I had skin tone coloured in, but it was too over powering and I didn't like it.

This is what happens when I draw a figure and I like it too much to cover with clothes; I just leave them naked.

Summer ended today! That means I've started full time work, with most of my crew back, which is great. I can't wait to start putting money away and to book our flight to Scotland.

Aw'right!

So yay doodles! I plan to stay active this summer and keep drawing, because I'm awesome like that.

But not really. Here's for trying!

It's Time to Leave Now

More Rebel and Ninja!

I don't get to draw Rebel much because he's pretty dull. There's not much I can do with a character who doesn't really react to anything, ever. He's a walking statue. Ninja however, offers full opportunity to do whatever the hell I want. Because she's awesome that way.

This is actually an initial drawing for what I plan to use on my painting assignment, even though I haven't figured out the layout yet.

Rebel and Ninja, people; they're the best siblings ever. Sort of.

Rewriting, reworking, reformatting and slowly developing these into a comic- because I've stopped sitting on my hands and actually started working on one. Ooh, aren't I cool?

Not really; I kinda have to learn how to draw first.

But whatever! Do not despair, I am drawing. Drawing drawing drawing; it is my life, after all.

Liesurely Stroll

I expect there to be a lot of these two in the time that follows- due to the fact that I'm finally starting a comic story, and it happens to star them.

Theta Gamma is where the two live; level Theta, section Gamma. Often referred to as "Theta Gamma Quadrant" and etc for all levels and quadrants of Rise. Alpha Alpha Quadrant, Alpha Beta Quadrant, Alpha Gamma Quadrant, Alpha Delta Quadrant; then BETA Alpha Qua- you get the point. I skipped "Epsilon" in the Greek alphabet when I was naming the seven levels. Mostly because I couldn't pronounce it.

So as impressed as I am with myself for finally starting a project somewhere, I'm sad. Why? Because Rebel and Ninja are very solitary workers. They have their story, and they play their roles, but they don't interact with as many characters as in my other story, and that makes me sad. That one has Suka, Alan, Eli, Ain, Kara, Tina, Booster, Jem, Yukio- etc. This has Rebel, Ninja, Alleiah, and a chance of Sherry. Which is good, I wanted to start simple, ah ha! The other one is going to be a real bit of dedication.

Like I said, I'm impressed I'm actually starting something; these are my first attempts at making comics since Peck- aaaand I'm not going to delve too deeply on Peck the woodpecker and my attempts at gag humour.

I just realized Archie comics were my very first influence as a child.

Happy times. This is my fourth day of my self-implemented "Remain positive" regime. Gotta say, getting up for stretches at the crack of dawn is harsh. But, I feel okay. Go me.

Ga Haha

And now I have a title page! Wow, I've never seen myself get this far. I'm rather impressed.

As per usual with everything I work on; I just made a big mess and had a lot of fun painting it. Yippee!

Welcome to Rise.

The title page.

I'll just pretend Ninja has perfectly normal length arms.

Thar you go guys, you finally know what the giant junk heap is for; you know, that one I was drawing just this morning?

Why did I pick such a crappy setting for this story? There's so much garbage floating around.

Also; LCD colours BURN LIKE HELL FIRE. I matched my CRT to match my printer, but I guess I didn't accurately match up my LCD to my CRT-- tried the best I could.

I need to go to bed.

TRONified

My latest bit of inspiration.

Disney should TOTALLY drop all their things and hire me as a layout painter.

Suffice to say I love TRON Legacy way more than is healthy.

Big fan of the new light suit designs, they seem so much more believable and real than the original ones. Probably because this time around all the costumes actually lit up; instead of having the lights digitally added like they were for the first film.

I got this idea while listening to the Daft Punk soundtrack for the new movie. Rebel was just made for the grid, I didn't have a problem designing him at all, haha. He's fun to draw. And he's developed a bit of a nasty streak since I've started to RP with him.

Rebels design was based off every character I've seen on the grid; no cotton, just supah spandex. Played with the lines some to make it stand out; black lines on a black character equal disaster.

Ninja's design was a little more difficult, because I didn't see her on the grid. She's too young to partake in the games, but I picture her being a bloody nightmare off the grid anyways. I based her colours mostly off Jem and Castor, Castor being the biggest influence. All the white was a little more difficult to light up- but I think I did okay by changing the colour of my lines.

I've GOT to get myself a copy of 'Betrayal'.

Also, so long as I'm on my TRON funk, I introduce:

TRON Sherlock; Helmet free.

Yes, I freaking love the new light suit designs. There's so much room for customization, I can have so much fun!

This drawing was a huge mess, haha, I had limbs all over the place and no idea what I was trying to do. His face is still all wrong, haha, but oh well, here's skinny skinny Sherry, and his light disk.

I picture him with more of a green blue, I think. Probably partaking in the disc battles. Poor guy, I don't think he'd last very long. This is obviously not half-gorgon Sherlock, just Sherlock, a regular, perfectly normal kid.

What bit of TRON fanart would be complete without my addition of Tinette? None, that's how many. I picture her in red, and probably previously part of the Black Guard who operates on her own agenda. Tinette doesn't take well to order and hates being told what to do.

This one was a lot of fun to draw, ah ha! I based her hair off the muses from the new movie- and the visor was one of my own design, mostly inspired by Jarvis. Hooks around the back of the head and sits just about the ears while the visor protects the eyes. Her hair looks much shorter, only because it's half tied up.

I also drew Ainmire, and he had a TRONified cape, but I wasn't happy with the final picture, so I'll have to try again.

Hooray TRON!

I'm Currently Not Melting

Because for once, Oakville has decided to stay at a bearable temperature; Allowing me to sit in my room and NOT die.

And what am I doing with that chance? Scanning and typing and posting to RPs.

Okay, so to the left! This is a picture of Rebel, Ninja and Alleiah. This is probably along the point in the time line where Rebel is on the run, and trying to find a safe place for his sister. He brings her home, hoping their mother will look after his little sister- but, she refuses, too ashamed of her mistakes from the past.

Rebel is then forced to take Ninja with him and to try to protect her. This all eventually leads to his demise.

This is the closest I'll ever get to a family portrait of the three.

I used to think Ninja and Rebel were even players in Rise, but they're not. The story is all about Ninja, again following the characters growth and change. I'm so bad with epics- All of my stories focus on particular characters and the changes they go through as life goes on.

I think, at the base of it, I've really got two stories. Sure, I've got starts and middles and finishes and bits here and bits there, and occasionally a complete, albeit thready plot; But I think the only two stories I care about are these ones.

I usually feel kinda bad, because I don't have as many characters as a lot of my friends, since as far back as I can remember sharing stories- but the characters I do have, are very special to me.

Aaaand a really quick "I'm trying to stop drawing crap" scribble of Suka. She's not all covered up, so this is probably post-rescue, and shortly before her disease gets too powerful and she croaks.

Despite everything she'd gone through, she's still happy, though a lot more conscientious of the world around her, and much more independent. By the end of the story, Suka's finally figured out that she can't always count on someone being around to look after her. Granted, it comes by the overwhelming feeling of being abandoned- after living with it for close to two years, and wanting nothing more than to be left to her own suffering, she accepts this and can carry on with life like a normal human being.

And then Alan comes to save the day! Yaaay!! Which leads to even more excitement. I love writing.

It's way too hot to be doing anything.

This is me being unable to actually stay off my computer.

Well, actually, this is me trying to draw something, failing at what I was trying to draw, sifting through my portfolio for idea's and finding a butt load of stuff I never bothered to scan.

So, I scanned it! Buahahaha, course. Okay so basically, I'm trying to see what happens when I put doodles on my blog horizontally instead of vertically. Click here for proper size, please!

On the far left, we have two pages of something I tried, got embarrassed about and stopped. I had so much work left to do, but by this point I'm probably not going to touch them again. I picked a scene from Rise, and I was scribbling it out in little pages and blew them up. I wanted to try painting them, to see how it all fit together, and in the end, I decided for something like this I'd much prefer digital.

Beside that, Ainmire! I miss his grumpy face.

The next one is probably one of my favourite doodles of Tinette ever, because it just kinda happened and looked good anyways.

The following three are a series, each one drawn after the last as I hated them and didn't think they were lively enough. Too stiff and boring. By the end, I got a pose I was okay with, but I'd burned out and didn't want to finish.

Ninja and Rebel, being sibling-y. I specifically designed Rebel to be everything his sister wasn't, as they were supposed to be complete opposites in every way, instead I just wound up with an insanely boring character; who's only concern is his little sisters well being.

Alan and Suka, a doodle I have no idea what I was thinking about or where I was going.

This was me gettin' into the pokemanzzz. And being epic fail at slowpokes, I had to ask Chelsea to draw it for me! I like drawing in ballpoint, and I generally wind up liking everything I draw while at it. I like drawing chunky things.

Tinette, in some winter wear, probably lined with real fur. I don't think she's actually effected by the cold, or she would be really really damn frigid.

Suka and Verden, shortly after Verden saves Suka from unintentionally almost starving herself to death.

And of course, Ninja! I don't know what it is about her, but I like her quite a bit. In real life, I'd probably want to kill her, but as a character, I care about her a lot. The ceaseless, hyper, never ending supply of energy that doesn't know how to stop talking.

I am going to try and draw again!

From the Hand of the Great Masters----

Came the Adobe CS4 Masters Collection!!! Muahahahaha.

I'm pretty sure actual artists had nothing to do with the making of the program... But artists were in mind! Anyways, I'm kinda unfocused and still feeling rather bleh today (for no reason) so, I decided to just add something I quickly coloured and ramble for a while on my blog.

Yes, I'd so much rather post here where no one comments as opposed to my DA where no one comments. The blog is definitely more for me.

SO ANYWAYS, without any further ado, today I decided I wanted to design Alleiah, who can be recalled from my post I made months ago about these two guys; being their uncreative mother. Alleiah is Rebels birth mother and Ninja's foster mother.

I was watching a movie with Sarah and my mind started to drift back to a story idea I had a long time ago that was inspired by the city of Midgar; from FFVII. The idea of a walled city, and a fierce dictatorship. I liked the idea, but I never got anywhere to developing the characters in the setting. The were nameless, featureless people acting out a story that never had a solid plot line.

After finishing that movie, jumping around the internet, and flipping through a very very terrifyingly old notebook of mine, I went to bed. As I let myself gradually doze off, the characters for this nameless story became clear to me... Rebel and Ninja, characters I had more or less completely fleshed out, but never worked out what story they were in or what part they played.

Plots without characters, and characters without plots, it's a match made in heaven, right?

Anyways, this image is what stood out most to me in my mind as I fell asleep. It's some time after they've deserted the city (where Rebel was a relatively high up operative) and managed to track down their mother. The reunion didn't last very long, as other soldiers managed to follow the two back to their destination. Rebel, going hulk style, easily took out the grunt sent after him; refusing to be arrested because he wouldn't take innocent lives. He apologizes to Alleiah for bringing the danger to her door, where she kisses him and tells him he's a good son, that's she's proud of him, and to keep protecting her daughter (that she hasn't seen since she was born).

There isn't much plot past that point, but I'm thinking maybe it would make a good warm up comic for Timestamp... Something just to get into the gist of things before I jump into the complicated and relatively dark storyline of Suka's life.

Gold isn't really the colour of Alleiahs kind, silver suits them better, but it matches her skin and clothes. You'll notice by their ears they aren't human, Alleiah and Rebel both being members of a species of fae always referred to as "The Children" (Yes, I did totally steal that from my Battle of the Gods storyline; I always recycle ideas from projects of mine that never got off the ground), who aren't really trusted by the humans, and who don't really trust humans. Rebel lived a life of discrimination so his adoptive sister wouldn't have to.

I'm tired 8D Think I'll go read a book.

A Field of Coloured Post-its

Just a very very quick post before I got to sleep as I'm very tired and need to pack in the morning and go home for the thanksgiving weekend!

Fruits of my labour (which is a fancy way of saying I wasn't paying attention during lecture today)!

Ta dum. Alright, first up, top left in green was me playing with my GREEN marker instead of with my BLUE marker, and the result was something I wasn't too fond of, but I was overdue for a happy Suka picture.

Right below that, is ME, expressing my frustrations at being unable to connect to the internet.

To the right, are all doodles of Tinette, as I was exploring her character design during class, both to match recent happenings in the RP (Yes, we destroyed her face) as well as just.. Character drawings because I'm rather fond of Tinette and enjoy drawing her hair. To the lower right, is an image of a child Tinette dancing (I bet you didn't know Tinette was a DANCER) and then beside her some 15-20 years later Tinette, also dancing. It's why she can fight so damn well and why she has no problem running stupidly long distances and stupidly fast paces. She's very pretty when she smiles, I discovered, but she doesn't smile a lot. She sort of like a female Ain... which is creepy to think about.

Speaking of! Above the dancing Tinettes I doodled Kara and Ainmire, because I hadn't drawn a single decent picture of Kara yet, and I can't really see Kara without her clinging to Ain... So Ain got roped into the picture too. Aren't they adorable? He looks very happy.

The next three on the right were me tinkering ever so slightly with Tina's outfit design, and then decided I should really stop obsessing over Tinette. So who did I draw? NINJA! Another one of my female characters who actually has a strong personality... I'm not totally sure where Suka came from.

Below the two girls, is Rebel, being tired, probably because of Ninja, again.

So on the walk home today, I crossed through the field like I always did, and was relieved to find there was no gym class. I was listening to "Lose You" by Pete Yorn, and while I was walking through the field I started to notice these very vivid pink squares scattered through the grass. It took me a few moments to notice they were post it notes, and there were also vibrant blue squares scattered about.. For some reason it felt very artistic and awe inspiring, just as little post its. It made me feel comfortable for reasons I don't know, and it made me feel very deep!

I enjoyed my walk home because of those post-it notes.

SO IT'S BEEN A WHILE

Ha, I don't enjoy having a life. It kinda sorta sucks for anything related to the creative.

So here, I bring you a massive collection of doodles from the last time I uploaded anything up until now!

Feeling immensely creative tonight-- and I really don't want to be sitting here, but my creative seems to be leaning toward the writing aspect instead of the drawing one.

As much as I would love to explain every one of these.. I'm not going to. Mostly because I can't see them in the thumbnail clear enough to explain a little, but yes, doodles.

Since my last upload, life picked up in speed a bit. My job started to become a lot more draining, my weekends somehow filled up with plans, even though I never plan anything.

I visited both Sarah and Leah in their hometowns and did a lot of art related stuffs (ATCs, life doodles, art jam doodles, comic pages) which was an amazing and awesome relief and break that I very desperately needed.

Covered the costs of tuition with my summer earnings, so I don't need to depend on OSAP for that, got little packing done despite my resolve to GET EVERYTHING PACKED ASAP, got new stuff from parents and grandparents for the new home, read a bunch of new books, did a lot of writing for my own personal project, faced down a crash and burn---

But did very little art =[ These are roughly three months worth of doodles, which looking at, and considering not a single one of them was finished, is incredibly disappointing. Not to mention these aren't anything new to anyone who has seen my sketchbook practically any time this summer.

I can not wait to go back to school and for my job to end. I'm crossing my fingers and repeating over and over "three weeks, three weeks, three weeks!"

I am now number TEN on the animation waitlist, so in three months, seven people have fallen off the list. Ten are not going to drop out within the next three weeks.

Still feeling pretty epic fail, but whatever.

And now, I need to do something creative.

Take care now!

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Haha! No, I don't feel any different.

Wow what a busy week!! I finally got something finished x3 Actually, I got quite a few things finished...

I've already informed everyone about my job, and this is what I do on my lunch breaks! I doodle. I work with a girl named Alysia (pronounced Alicia) and every day, weather permitting, we go outside for lunch. I draw, and she reads a book, and we don't.. really talk to each other at all XD because we're social like that.

Anyhow, the results of my week came up with these doodles, numbered in the order I drew them. I spent all of friday night and today working on colouring them, so I could put them up here 8D

I named them all, but yeah...

1. Suka. Because while I was talking to Alysia, she asked me if there was a character I drew the MOST, and I was like... Oh yeah! However, opening my sketchbook and flipping through, there were.. no pictures of Suka. which surprised me. Well there was one, but it was RP related, and after she got healed, which doesn't happen in her original story. So I spent the lunch doodling up a Suka that didn't come from the RP.

2. Ninja. You know, I've NEVER drawn a picture of this girl that I've liked =/ I'm not even that keen on this one, but at least I've finally designed her an outfit I'm okay with. Painted this to be a profile picture for a new RP I'm stepping into =] Ninja hasn't changed much from her original design, probably because I never settled on a design I liked. She always had short red hair, she always wore the ninja headband thing, and I never settled on anything for her. Except, she's always been insanely hyper and happy and treats EVERYTHING in life like a game. Leads to some tense situations, but whatever she can't take care of (she's very capable) Rebel can handle. Normally.

3. Rebel. I cringe whenever I say these names XD But there's no way I'm changing them because they were created around their names, and as lame as they are.. *Shrug* I'm still okay with them. Rebel has gone through three redesigns, this being the third. His first design was TERRIBLE. He had short short hair that stuck up everywhere, and looked like he was twelve years old. He also looked like a generic anime character. His second design was very good (at the time), however I was unable to ever, ever replicate it. He had red hair then, and orange eyes. Ah, and yes, he was human at that point. When I stumbled across an unfinished picture of Ninja in my file, I knew right away I wanted to use these two for the RP. Rebel has always been a deserter for the sake of his little sister, and the pair has always been parentless, but turning him into an elf made for a more interesting back story. It also let me change his hair colour and make him a lot older than he looks (I'm thinking he's 50-60 years old). And I'm very fond of his hair XD That I didn't change from his second redesign, even though that design was heavily anime influenced. Same style, different colour. Kept his clothes practically the same from his second design, though I scraped the short little cloak and I gave him longer sleeves and more practical gloves x3

4. Dailan. Another design I struggle with.. I don't know why, but I never feel compelled to finish anything I start with him. Hence the flats! I guess I just don't know him well enough yet. His design will probably change a few times before I get around to actually using him in my story XD

5. Kara and Ainmire! I wasn't going to move past the flats on these two... but I really really wanted to colour Kara! She's new, as I posted a few back, another design I salvaged from my file. Ain is Ain, not much to say there, except I can bet he's willing to do near anything to get Kara to focus on someone other than himself. These two were coloured really quickly, seeing how fast I could speed up the process without making it look like a slop. I.E. I was being lazy and I'm trying to make it sound good XD

6. RP Suka! It's nice to be able to draw her full face every now and then. Yeah, character with half a face.. is DAMN hard to express emotions with. So technically the pose she's in isn't really possible, but I liked the way it looked and decided to play the perspective card and not touch it! I enjoyed colouring this one a lot, and also made it my new Gaia signature. I don't know why I bothered XD I hardly post on Gaia anymore. I drew this after my previous drawing turned into a horribly messy scribble and I reverted to drawing something I was more comfortable with!

I like number three and six the most of this batch =] Probably going to start making this a habit, drawing all week then colouring them and posting them on the weekend. It's funny that I've drawn more during work than I did during that one week off I had at the start of summer. Every day when Alysia and I sit down for lunch she asks me, "So what are you drawing today?" which leads to a new doodle. I had three others I did't put up, because I wasn't feeling it. I'll give them a run again next week!

I started inking about two weeks ago when someone told me she'd love to see me colour something inked, just because. Well I tried it.. and I realized it saved a bloody shit load of time to just ink things right away. It also preserved the integrity of my drawings, not reducing them to awful smudgy messes, and even with my terrible scanner, they were that much easier to colour. I don't pencil things much anymore, skipping right ahead to my marker, still working on my line weights and such (though I'd probably have more variety if I used a larger marker, .3 is just too much ><) and have found a system that works very well for removing my blue lines. My next target is to actually learn how to use the non-photo blue pencil Xd but it's so hard to SEE, I forget where all my lines are!! XP. I'll work on that.

Saving up for new equipment!!

Also over the course of the last week, I turned 19 =] Nothing special, hell, I didn't even tell anyone it was coming because I kept forgetting, but when it finally came about it didn't end. On the day of my birthday, I got 18 posts on my facebook wishing me birthday wishes, Chris, Corrin, and Jason texted me, Alysia remembered it was my birthday from when she'd asked last week, and I came home and got cake and presents. The day after, I got belated birthday wishes from a few friends, and came home to a present mailed to me from my friend living in Sudbury =]. The following day, my grandparents stopped by to give me some money (and a candy bar, because Nanny thinks i'm getting too skinny) and we went out for dinner, all together. And yesterday, my dad bought me a bottle of mint chocolate baileys to mix with my hot chocolate. It's supposedly very tasty!

It was an awesome birthday, even if I spent it working and sitting at home on my computer.

Thanks to everyone who remembered <3 It meant a lot to the person who forgot it was around the bend =]

Rebel and Ninja!

Tada! Something I drew up really quick time (hence why it's so ugly). Planning to step into a new RP, and had to come up with some characters I wanted to use, so out came the old file folder!

Alright, so these characters are Rebel, and Ninja (I bet you can't guess what they do for a living!)

Remembering the creation of these two brought back some memories actually.. I was talking to my friend Julian, who was telling me about his dog Rebel who had passed, and his dad refused to give him the ashes. He continued to tell me how now all he had to distract him, was his cat Ninja.

I was talking to him, and my mind just ran off in this completely opposite direction and I created Rebel and Ninja, people forms.

Name: Rebel
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Age: appears 25
Job: Mercenary
Height: 6' (HA, he's short x3)
Personality: Fiercely protective, though perfectly content to let Ninja learn things the hard way.

Name: Ninja
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Job: Ninja
Height: 5'1"
Personality:
Very energetic and rambunctious. Has a terrible sense of direction, but she pulls off being a ninja quite well despite her bubbly personality. Gets frustrated easily when not working.

Right, so Rebel used to be part of the Imperial Guard (or whatever the equivalent of that would be for the current rp) and is branded as such (left shoulder). However, when things at home got a bit.. difficult (his mother took in a human child) he had to leave and go into hiding to protect his little sister. Desertion is frowned on, and he's in a bit of a legal spit because of it. However, he doesn't regret it in the least and cares about Ninja more than anything else, and will do anything for her. He's a great cook (as far as survival cooking goes) and they make money a job at a time, doing their best to keep on the move and under the radar.

Ninja was abandoned in a bush (:B) where she was picked up by her elf foster mother, Alleiah. Of course, such a move would not be accepted by society, so she had to confide in her son, who took Ninja and fled. She doesn't know anybody better than she knows Rebel, and regardless of making his life much more difficult than it needs to be, loves him to bits.
