Some more derps

I've been busy with my thesis lately so I haven't really been creating anything. Here's a collection of drawings I've done over the past few months or so- some commissions, some fan art fridays, and some fun.

Yuffie Kisaragi

Well, here she is, folks. At the behest of my beautiful Corrin, I stayed up late to finish a much overdue fanart of Yuffie Kisaragi, who is arguably my favourite FFVII lady. Arguably, because I constantly change my mind about who is my favourite character in that game.

Anyways.

So. I figured I'd hear it for changing her design so much, but I decided to take a different route when designing Yuffie. I read up on ninjas. A lot. A ridiculous amount. I wanted to try and make a very true to heart portrayal of a ninja. Well... the popular representation of ninjas are pure fantasy. Pretty sure I was aware of that before I started researching, but hey, I confirmed it. So, I thought about where Yuffie grew up- in Wutai, a country that was torn up by war and left in economic distress because of the war. Yuffie was raised to be a fighter; specifically a martial artist. I considered traditional Chinese style clothing, I considered Buddhist robes, I considered so many kinds of different directions I could take Yuffie in, I couldn't pick. So I thought about what Ninja's did. Ninjas were to fight back against the samurai, and their common clothes were-- well, common clothes, to blend in and pass unnoticed. They were spies and insurgents.

I decided to go a little more modern with Yuffie, considering the world she lives in is technologically advanced. Got her done up in some camo to pass unnoticed, and gave her some super fancy night vision goggles. I decided to pass on giving Ninja armour, like I have done for all my other redesigns so far; I feel like most of Yuffie's attacks would be from the dark, unseen and unexpected, and armour was not something she relied heavily on.

And there. Thank you, Corrin, for convincing me to finish her.

I've Been Busy

Or distracted, idk. Anyways, just some drawings I've pumped out lately, since it's been a while since I actually finished anything. That being the case, I drew some fanart to get my out of my rut! I have a lot more sketches, but I haven't really finished anything.

To the left I drew Sayaka, a character from Madoka Magica, a really great show that took me a really long time to get into, but I did, and I am really glad I did.

Sayaka is a great character, and I love her very much.
This is one I drew for one of my best friends, who is a very big fan of the character Jinx from League of Legends.

I got the chance to play her while she was one of the free champions, and I have to say, she was really rad.

Tryndamere is still my favourite.

I tried to draw Tryndamere. I forget how to draw beefy men.

Belated Birthday Wishes

My friend Chris' birthday was last week. Actually a little over a week ago now. He's not very big on his birthday, but I really wanted to make him something since he's been a part of my life for so long. All I have to offer are my hands, so I got to work making this sketch several weeks ago.

Then life got away from me.

So anyways, this is for my dear friend Chris, who took efforts to keep me a part of his life all these years even though I don't live in Brampton, never call, hardly text, and was the biggest stick in the mud in the world when he first started inviting me to his parties.

All of my love, Chris, thanks so much for being there all these years. I appreciate everything you've done for me in my life, more than I think you can guess. Happy Birthday, I hope you have the happiest of days, every day until your next birthday and I'll wish them all again.

SKETCHES.

I am entirely unsure how to arrange this nicely, so I'm just going to leave them in this order. I haven't had any time lately to finish any artwork, but I've had enough time to sketch things. So here's all the sketches I've come up with lately, and all the things I mean to finish but haven't yet.

I lied, I'm a champion and reorganized all of my drawings nicely. GO ME.

It's a party!!

Okay so... Suka in her winter clothes, a trade for an old friend, a character design I had to get off my chest, me stepping on a subway grate in a dress in TO, baby version of my character Kara, Phineas in swimming trunks because Jessica gave me "beach" as an environment, a northern water nymp that tried to drown Ain once long ago, Ainmire, dressed up in his Northern gear, since he hails from the north, and Yuffie, part of my FFVII redesigns that I am not yet finished because I hate her stupid one arm armour.

Vincent Valentine

I had some fun ideas for redesigning Vincent's costume too, but it took me a while to figure out what to do for his chest.

I had a shirtless Vinnie sitting in Photoshop for several days.

Anyways, I decided against armour almost entirely for Vincent, because he can't age and is practically immortal because of Chaos, and he's not happy about it.

I got rid of his asymmetrical gauntlets in the sense that I matched them to each other. Added some shin guards to go along with his fully armoured shoes, and I cut back the length of his ridiculous brass toes. He'd trip on them, come on. Tried to pull back on the black, because it's boring, and gave him a nice shirt.

I figure he's actually quite dapper under there.

Added some lines to his face because he always seemed pretty broody and weighted to me.

Yeaaah, Vincent Valentine. He's pretty cool, I guess.

Tifa Lockhart

What is this unusual fanart thing coming from Annie?

I don't know, don't ask.

I redesigned Tifa Lockhart as well, since I had so  much fun with Cloud.

Gave her an entirely new outfit and tried to preserve her shape and sex appeal as much as I could.

Shorts are a must for battle.

As are brass knuckles.

Cloud Strife

I've always been a big fan of FFVII for as long as I can rightly remember. Earlier today I stumbled across a meme that had you google search animated gifs of your name. My real name didn't turn up anything interesting, but my screen name, turned up lots of anime and lots of Cloud.

Particularly because my screen name has "Strife" in it, because I was such a big fan and that's what I named myself after when I was twelve years old.

That was super fun, to revive a character I've known and loved for over ten years.

I've never seen cloud as the broody anti-hero he's usually read as, so I drew him how I always felt he behaved.

Ah, and I gave him some more armour, because I like adding armour to characters I feel are underprepared.

There are bullets, guys.

La Seine

Ha, I finished my drawing from earlier.

I pay attention in class, I swear.

I pretty much drew this for Corrin- I hope she likes it!

I'm very excited for this movie, despite having not heard of it before a few months ago.

Wee!
