I haven't posted in a while. Been throwing together really quick doodles and posting them over on my tumblr, because I haven't had time to work on anything in a long time.
I was walking to school and listening to music, totally lost in thought, thinking about this one artist I'm a big fan of, and something she said about Nancy Drew covers, and how she wanted to make one of her own, and as I was walking, so did I.
My cover wound up being entirely inspired by the song I was listening to at the time, so here's The Five Ghosts, inspired by the song of the same name by Stars.
It was really fun to just paint something. I tried some new things I haven't before, since I'm a disaster in the composition department, but I tried to follow some basic rules that I've picked up through college.
Yah, that was fun, glad I took the time to do that even though I don't have any time right now to be fooling around.

My Right Hand is This One-
I still don't know my left from my right without thinking about it.I finished this today! It's Valentines season, and I'm not a hater, so I decided to celebrate Valentines the same way I did last year- by celebrating the relationships my characters have.
I've drawn some others, but I can't post them until I've given them to the people I made them for. So that being the case, here is Ainmire and Kara! Jeeze, they're adorable.
I've been playing with lineless art again, but this time instead of breaking up all the individual shapes in to different chunks of colour, I made each shape the same and used lines on the inside to define changing planes.
I think it turned out rather nicely, and I've gotten very good at doing making these very fast. I have some more sketches I need to colour, just of my characters.
Happy Valentines people!

This Is How We Do It
I thought I'd start this entry off with a picture I drew last week. It's a redraw of a concept I tried last year, and I was getting frustrated with myself because I couldn't draw anything that didn't look super stiff and rigid. I made some slight adjustments when I brought this over into photoshop, but for the most part, it is the exact same drawing I drew last year-
And I am much happier with the results this time around, even if they aren't perfect. They're a little less stiff, so hey, it's a start!
Also the black on red helps.
Yaaay, sketch dump! So, I've been practicing with a steel nib pen, because I get finer lines out of it than I do with even the smallest fine liner- however, my hands shake something fierce, and I'm really not used to using a steel nib (I haven't touched one since middle school). As such, my lines are horrifically uneven, wiggly, and shaky at best. But hey, practice makes perfect, so here are some practice doodles.
I drew some Ainmires, some Sukas, a bunch of Ninjas, and couples! I like drawing couple pictures, so I'm abusing the hell out of the fact that two characters in a recent RP have a past together.
Today I was flipping through pages of the RP looking for things I haven't drawn yet- but all of my favourite moments, I've already drawn! Boo. I haven't drawn a lot of Tinas, I should draw some moments of her and... and... well, probably Irwin, because I find it funny.
Oh Irwin. You'll learn how to deal with the ladies one day, I'm sure of it. He's a smart man, he can fake it.
Ninja thinks she's batman, just so everyone knows. She's resourceful and very useful in a pinch, so long as that pinch doesn't require actual physical strength.
Yaaay, more couples!! This time I drew Garrett and Suka, at the suggestion of Sarah, but I haven't gotten around to sharpening this one up, quite yet. They're very cute and sweet, I miss them a lot.
Drew Alan, saying some things he probably wouldn't say (he rarely swears around the ladies, Jem would brain him), and Garrett, with a broken toothpick neck, and Shaari, I suppose she's singing-
And I drew Phineas and Suka again, probably a long time ago, and probably while they were dating. I like drawing cute shit. I might even add some colour to this lineart to sharpen it up some- see how far I can get without inking a lineart.
And then, just for shits and giggles, I drew Kara and Ainmire! Why? Because I think Kara's lovely, and I think her and Ain are so adorable it makes me squeal inside. D'AAAAW, so cute.
Ainmire can be loveable, I swear.
And that brings us to my last sketch dump, which is mostly Ninja fighting a yeti, Ninja bragging about how clever she is, and MORE COUPLES!
And this pair is DANCING.
I get obsessed with removing negative space when I'm drawing two or more people in the same picture...
I really like this last one, I even inked it and I'm getting set to add colours and finish it up all nice and pretty.
I like painting, once I get into the groove. Bar stools, here I come!

COLLAAAAAAAAAAGE
I'm having way too much fun putting these things together. However, in light of all my recent experiments, I'm getting better at producing these- next time I'm going to try an actual environment instead of some cobbled together bit of nonsense.
Tilted table is tilted.
Also, there are about twenty chess pieces missing, at least. Please ignore, I'm lazy.
Irwin is Sarah's character, not mine. I'm just currently exploiting her creations for my experiments.
He also gave me one hell of a time because I can't depend on lines to say he's wrapped in lots and lots of bandage! I attempted to differentiate with colour. I got so very very very confused when I was removing the lines.
Verden, though is mine! And he's my baby. And I hug him tightly and love him to death.
Okay, so I actually drew this one with GRAPHITE, so I could erase the lines and scan it in as a black and white drawing. I had much success. I also got graphite all over my hands and paper. I have to stop that. Anyways, colouring in the lines took me a lifetime and a half, and I find this hilarious because I was never overly fond of coloured lines, yet here I am, working my butt off to colour every individual line to remove them from my drawing. Awesome.
It is still much more engaging than the pen tool!
Wee!! I think I am very hungry.
Why do I ignore food when I'm in the zone?

It's An Important Question.
After having success in the experiment I started last night, I wanted to try again, but this time I wanted something that felt more organic.I wasn't happy that I spent five hours clicking and pulling points around with my mouse; I felt incredibly uninvolved with the piece, even if I really liked the effect I got at the end of those five hours.
So I tried to figure out how I could use one of my inked line arts, but to get the same cut out effect.
Five hours later.
I was having a hard time, my lines were fuzzy and not registering very well so I was having a difficult time colouring them. I can't tell you how insane it was driving me. Sarah normally scans her line arts in as black and white, which gets rid of a lot of the fuzz that happens when you scan things in colour. I thought this might solve some of my problems- but I'm prone to drawing with a red pencil. The creates a lot of noise when scanned in black and white.
So I took an eraser and scrubbed at my drawing like hell to lift off as much red as I could before I tried to scan it in black and white.
I got much cleaner lines! I could easily bucket in the colours and select the lines and erase them.
It's not as clean as my first experiment, but I did enjoy this drawing a lot more instead of thinking "I HATE the pen tool" or "this is extremely boring".
So I think this was a pretty successful attempt, and I might play around with it more in the future- because I am fond of the collage appearance of things.

A New Experiment!
I will quite possibly never do anything like this again. Playing with the pen tool is the BIGGEST pain in my rear. No life. just run around clicking, clicking, clicking.I recently bought a book called "Ramayana - Divine Loophole" by Sanjay Patel, and I spent last night lurking lots of very flat, very graphic galleries, and I wanted to try my hand at it. I love when collage is used to create a picture, and I thought if I used textures properly, I could probably get a collage like effect.
And I did.
It is not my cup of tea.
That being said, here is Tinette, learning a valuable lesson that crushing someone's spirit is not the best way to get things done.
Instead it gets you booted way back in time where you will more than likely freeze to death and die unless you can get Garrett to figure out how to take you BACK.
I'm sure she has much less abusive lessons planned for the future.
Tinette and Garrett are.. interesting, to say the least. I really don't know why he's nice to her- though he is nice to everybody. I tried to fill out a character profile for her, and there's really nothing positive about Tinette anywhere in there.
Yet, everyone I know loves Tinette.
For future reference, she hates all of you.
YAY EXPERIMENTING!
I must get back to my homework now.
This took roughly five hours.
For you curious people, I was working on top of this, and trying to build from the bottom up.
Textures from Cloaks.

Oh Look, It's Legible Now!
Sleepy. Think I'm going to go to bed now.I got this idea last night while I was thinking about one of my characters. Sherlock is a sweetie who I've come to care a lot for, and every since I decided to use him in my layout assignment, he's been on my mind. I was thinking about his history, which I had to seriously think about for the first time- I always knew his mother was a gorgon, but as to HIS backstory, I was never sure.
I discovered last night that Sherry has two crazy sisters- both of them older than him, though not by much. He was born in a nest of three, and was lucky not to get killed within the first ten minutes of hatching.
I've never heard of a male gorgon in my research, though I know gorgons have mated with humans before (Though, I think Medusa was pregnant before she was cursed to be a gorgon-). I decided that gorgons are plenty now, a species more than specifically three sisters (two, after Medusa's death), and Sherry's mother had two girls, who took the gorgon blood of their mother, and one boy, who took the human blood of his father. He still has stone-eye abilities, and he has an extended life due to his lineage- but he looks perfectly human.
I have a lot more coming! If I work on them. Never really felt inspired to work on something like this; I wanted to see if I could tell a story without dialogue, as well as see how comfortably I can work within panels. Since my last attempt, I can work surprisingly well within panels, and found most of this very fun to do.
I'm still unhappy with a lot of it, it's not as dynamic or as dramatic or clear as I would have liked, but hey, it's an experiment, and it's for fun. It's on five 8.5x11 pieces of paper, and you can see the page number in the top left corner. Reads from left to right, up to down. Hooray!
Poor Sherry, his sisters are insane. They get more sentient (I'm just guessing that's the word I want) as time goes on, but they're still very cruel and violent, especially to their youngest and weakest sibling.
Poor Sherry baby!

Little Late
I always jump on bandwagons a couple decades after their peak.Anyways, Sarah told me I should watch Star Trek TNG because I would probably like it. I downloaded the first season sometime last month (or was it the month before?), and started watching.
I immediately fell in love with Lt. Commander Data. He's adorable, a Sherlockian, and plays the violin.
I wanted my own Data to hug and love and confuse with human emotions!
So I built one. Mine is far less.. responsive than Dr. Soong's model.. but mine is also squishy and filled with rice.
I had a lot of fun making his tiny Star Fleet uniform, but I'm not a huge fan of fleece, I don't think. It's got a lot of stretch yet isn't very strong, like felt, and I got fuzz everywhere. His hair was also a new experiment for me, and I think it was very successful. His communicator and eyes are both made from painted and glossed sculpy- because I decided against buttons.
His ears are lopsided, his head is floppy, and I wasn't too fond of the head/body ratio of this particular pattern- but I love him anyways. Another doll experiment to stick under my belt!

| When I stroke it thusly... |
Christmas break started last Friday, and I kicked the event off with some TRON Legacy! I enjoyed every minute of two-dimensionality, abstract story and lack of character development. SO going to see it again.
I haven't actually slept since Thursday night. Instead I've been having little naps here and there when ever I got tired, and I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with how much stuff I can get done when I don't have to sleep for eight hours every night.
I still have a lot of work to do- six pencil cases, seven pairs of jeans, two pillow covers, my sister's, brothers and cousins presents (and grandparents, oh boy) and most of those people I have no idea what to get for them. I don't think I have time to keep making everyone presents, as I spent a couple days on my dads instead of a couple hours. Still, tackling things one project at a time; I envy my sister who can make everyone fuzzy gifts for Christmas and all I have in my repertoire is drawing.
Christmas! Maybe I'll get my brother a coffee mug and stuff it with candy... "I'm sorry bro, I have no idea what I could possibly get you for Christmas!" *hands mug of candy*.
My cousins are more difficult because I don't know them very well- I love them both very much, but since my aunt and uncle got divorced and we both started college, things got a little.. distant. I wanted to buy Sarah a bath bomb, but I texted her and found out she wasn't really a bath person. I don't know what I'd get Laura either, haha.
As to my grandparents- I know what they want, grampa wants a portrait of the lot of us drawn by yours truly- but I'm terrible at human likenesses and at this point, I don't have the time to draw that. I don't know when I would have in the first place- I don't know what to get my nan either.
I am at a loss, oh no!!

It Goes on and on and on and on-
Tada! I finished my horizontal looping pan. Yes, both edges meet up perfectly. I don't normally post homework, but this one was a lot of fun, so I figured why not.I made a big textury mess and I played with contrasts to a ridiculous extent.
But it was fun! I put in a couple of my characters, people who know me will more than likely recognize both of the inserted drawings. I left them sketchy so they could contrast better- also because I don't have the energy to paint them and I really don't know how to paint them so they properly mimic a changing light source.. though I'm pretty sure I'd have to just paint them in flats. Fun times!
Some Sherry and some Tina, just to spice things up a bit.
I totally baked this monster today!Have I ever mentioned I hate baking? I also really can't bake to save my life- this cake fell into four pieces when it came out of the cake pan, so it's really a cake jig-saw puzzle hidden under icing.
I don't trust it, and I really don't want to eat it- but I promised my friends cake, and so I shall bring them cake. It's a thank you present to my friends in second year who let me invade their studio once a week to work on my homework and talk to them.
Wee, I actually had a rather productive day today! TRON, homework, cake-
Pretty slick!

Something Personal!
I haven't had a personalized header on my blog since the first time I signed up on blogger and actually used their stock templates. Suffice to say, I could never navigate anything! With the new template designer it was a little easier- and I finally managed to delete something that was driving me insane. I'm still working on it, but for the time being, I'm okay with this.
I don't have the money to pay for my own domain, so I intend to add a couple buttons and stuff and make my blog mimic a website as best I can.
This is my title page for my-- er, well I guess it sort of speaks for itself, doesn't it? I never really care to put my homework up on my blog because it's just that, homework.
Though if I get a good grade on my next portfolio, I might actually take pictures and show off my lovely life drawings!
Haha, right, Annie can't draw from LIFE.
So here's my picture for my title page, and I was about finished inking when I realized I drew my corset; an article of clothing I promised to never again wear to my life drawing class.
Oh well, I'm very fond of that particular article of clothing, despite the embarrassment brought on by it.
So because I got this idea the other day, and I didn't realize I'd be utilizing it in such a tiny matter, so here's a slightly larger version of my blog header, that I just finished a couple hours ago.
I'm actually fond of it. It's not totally what I had in my head, but I still think it came out quite successful.
I was playing with some texture brushes, just having a good time. It's me sitting under a tree, in what was originally planned to be a forest of light bulbs, but for the sake of a blog header, I simplified it.
I think I might do some writing, perhaps.

A Small Handful of the Cosmos
This is a carry on of my last blog entry, only a different character, obviously. This is my latest buddy, Sherlock Nikodemus Grunsbury. I only recently figured out how to draw his hair, so you've probably only seen ridiculous pictures of him before.
Playing with my new brushes- actually trying this out, experimenting with texture. Unfortunately, Sherry stands in the way of most of my work, but that's okay, haha.
Sherlock is 16, and as it turns out, my lack of thinking things through means he's been on the Octavius II for three years already, so he's been this ships head of communications since he was thirteen.
He's also the unfortunate target of a lot of bullying because he's so young, but that's just going to make my life so much fun when it comes to writing
So for your pleasure, my head of communications and a small chunk of the cosmos!

I don't have a sensitive hand.
I decided to try my hand at digital inking today! Only because I was watching Xena and my hand was cramped up from doing nothing but drawing balloons all day.I didn't finish; I mostly got my key frames drawn and I have a bazillion more to add. I tested it on Sarah's computer and it moves HILARIOUSLY fast, but, she's lookin' good. If hilariously fast.
To the right, I have a drawing of Suka and Yukio! They're my darling OC's and my original OTP that I had to break up because of conflicting personalities.
I'm only realizing it now, but goodness, I made Yukio monstrously tall. He's rather short, about my height I'd guess.
But anyways, this is a scene from an RP I'm in with my friend Tara. Yukio finds Suka pretty, and true to my original story, he kidnaps her. Obviously, she's not very okay with that, and faints. After Freak steals one of her eyes. What a jerk.
I kind of wish they still wound up together; but after I changed Suka's personality so she was the more frightened of my two Suka's- and after I took Yukio's personality and I made him more flamboyant and whiny and jaded, they couldn't have worked. I couldn't even get Suka to the part in the story where Yukio is because of her changed personality.
Call this an homage, to the original couple. I'm working on one of Alan and Suka, because I recently redesigned Alan as well. I'm still working on his personality; he's too goody-two-shoes for my tastes.

Whatchu doin' with that garden hoe?
Woo, I finished something! I drew this really quick in class today because we were talking about character posing, which I've always loved to do.However, I'd finished my drawing of Yukio and Suka, so I figured I'd draw Tinette instead. Because I do love drawing her hips.
I then actually went through the effort of inking it and decided to colour it really fast on photoshop. I was going to practice a new colouring technique that combines cell and soft, but I was lazy, and stopped after the soft shading.
I drew this picture for my friend Tara! Because of this clip. She pictured May, as Tinette. And so, as I was walking to school...
"The Stuff (Reprise)" Came on my iPod.
And followed me to class. And so while in class, with the song playing in my head and while Komza showed us other students work, I doodled.
I brought it home and figured I'd finish because the song was still playing in my head. So here it is! With a really crappy background, haha. Tara made the texture, lol, I don't know how to do that sort of stuff. I have another picture I'm working on; but it might take me a bit longer as I want to do it properly.
SO THIS IS IT, JACK!

This is Called HOMEWORK now!
And holy crap, I couldn't be happier.I'm finally in animation. I'm finally starting animation. I'm finally, finally, finally doing what I want. Drawing.
That's right, my homework assignments now include drawing.
I could cry.
I've never felt better, haha. Since school started, I haven't exactly calmed down. It's been a week and a half of being incredibly giddy, hyper, bouncy and talking way too fast for people to keep up with me.
And hell, I'm so happy I can't even figure out how to say it. I've hardly had any headaches since school started, maybe two or three to complain of. How awesome is that?
I'm still kind of in awe, I guess, ha. I've been feeling so good, I'm partially afraid to believe it.
Yes, Voldemort's in my class, but you know what, nothing like having a bit of something like that thrown into a day to make it interesting.
I'm finally here! I'm finally doing something with my life that I actually WANT to be doing!
Loud music, bright colours, and improvement ahoy =] Let's make this the best damn year I've ever lived, shall I?

And Then, Annie Remembers She Has to Get up at Seven.
Oh well.I'm here to complain about my static artwork!
Complain I shall.
I've been having difficulties drawing lately, burning out of inspiration, I guess. I've been trying to get back into the swing of things, because Fan Expo is coming up in a month; and I've done nothing art related.
I got the inspiration a couple of days ago, when I was talking to one of my friends about a particular character of mine.
Eli is a special race of demon; one that I haven't bothered to name yet. Eli's race is special because there are no females of the race. They consist entirely of males, and the method of reproduction is incredibly unorthodox; It requires a flat cliff face, a lot of magic, a really crude C section and a blood sacrifice of the mother.
Lovely, hm?
Anyways, I'm just looking at it, and I'm immediately frustrated. Why? Because it's boring to look at. Something crude and shocking is HAPPENING, but I look at the picture and I'm like... falling asleep.
What should be different? Well, he (these characters are not characters in specific, just generic demon/woman) should be leaning forwards more. There should be more anger in the motion than I managed to actually draw. And she should be reeling back a lot more. She's getting her innards ripped out, but she's just.. standing there.
I fail.
But! I'm kinda gettin' back into the drawing swing again! Granted, it's through silhouettes... but still, better than nothing!
I have to wake up in a few hours for work.

Or I Could Just Work on Brown Paper
Instead of constantly sticking it on paper stock. But, I'm lazy; and I just didn't want to leave it on a white background.
I drew and painted this while watching Criminal Minds and Star Wars!
Yukio and Ninja don't actually ever cross paths, but I like pitting them against each other in pictures anyways.
Can you count all the bones I broke? Haha, Drawing in pencil wasn't working out very well, so I grabbed my ballpoint and went at it with that. I've gone on about how much I love ballpoint before, right?
I worked the sketch out in ballpoint and coloured it quickly with my water colour pencil crayons and my water brush. Nothing fancy, just playing around while I was avoiding my bedroom.
I also don't like it, because the poses (other than the fact that I snapped Ninja's neck) are static and boring, and not saying enough, as far as I'm concerned. I'll probably rework it at some point, but not tonight.
SO YAY FOR ME, DOODLEZ TIEM.

She's So Out of His League
Tinette! In pencil crayons.Like I mentioned a little while ago, I've started a new RP with Tinette in it. It also includes Fray. Not really sure how we figured this out- BUT Sarah and I have decided it would be hilarious to have Fray and Tinette as a couple.
It really, really, really doesn't make any sense, especially today as I was drawing Tina, and Sarah was drawing Fray- she is so very much completely out of his league. He's a really gross, icky, rude, perverted, hot headed- I'd label him a creep and never speak to him. While Tina, on the other hand, believes she's above everyone else, doesn't need a man, self centered, vain, proud, aaand, I'd label her a bitch and never speak to her.
So what is this!? This is Tina meeting the one person who won't put up with her hoity toity attitude. We've decided the relationship started more than likely- when Fray slapped her.
Oh yeah, we're so awesome.
So anyways, this was just a quick doodle I wasn't really going to pay a lot of attention to; you'll notice she doesn't have any toes, or proper fingers... but after I drew the sketch, I wanted to play with the supplies inside my pencil case. Those supplies meant pencil crayons! Soooo-- I played with my pencil crayons. It was fun and passed about an hour or so at work.
She's so out of his league, we're so ridiculous. Ha haaa, this is going to be so much fun.

I'm Doing It Again...
Posting twice in one day! You'd think I didn't have a life or something.Oh wait...
Art is my life, I'm cool with that.
Okay so I was just thinking about how badly I wanted to paint and colour and stuff, but couldn't because for whatever reason everything I wanted to draw wasn't turning out all that awesome. Daaamn.
So, I figured I'd just focusing on colouring. I had this picture of Ninja in my clip board that I'd started colouring at work in copics, but I couldn't finish her clothes because Tara didn't have any blues or greens. I figured I'd finish them today, in Prisma colour markers.
I picked up my clipboard, and it was chalk full of sketches and process doodles. I figured I should organize some stuff. I took out the actual workable pieces and I put them in my portfolio under June 2010, and I grabbed all the scratch pages and pulled out my second, very much beat up portfolio that I store my sketches in. As I was trying to cram stuff away, I passed a sheet of writing.
My brain perked up, as I always forget what I write and I love re-reading to see what characters and what plots I had started. As I grabbed it and started flipping through, it was made obvious to me that it was all emo poetry I should be shot for writing. There were a couple of writings I'd forgotten about, and--- What's this? I realized there was art in there that had somehow survived the purging of my portfolio a few months back.
I took them out and flipped through them, embarrassed by my lack of anatomy and just.. ignorance of important body parts. For example: crotches. However, one picture, gave me a bit of a start. It was the image I could see clearly in my minds eye when I was working on this picture, but was certain I'd lost forever because I'd thrown it away. But no, as it turns out, it some how survived, and as I stared at it, I wanted to red line it.
Point out all the errors a stupid younger me had made.
However, instead of bothering with all the effort of trying to correct something that just can't be corrected, I decided to redraw it.
Funny thing, where inspiration can come from. After I penciled it, I wanted to colour in the purple of the bruises, but I couldn't do that without colouring in some skin. Instead of inking my drawing, I decided I'd go right at it, taking inspiration from my coworker Spencer. So, using my markers, I coloured it.
Originally I wanted to try to take advantage of the white of my paper, and it was going well. Until I added the purple of the bruises. It stood out too harshly against the skin tone I'd used. I figured the logical answer was to dilute the purple, and to do that, I needed gray. I grabbed my lightest gray, and went at it, filling in the white (to help with blending) as I went.
Suka wound up looking like a zombie, but I got the purple to work. I thought it looked terrible, but after I inked it, it didn't look too bad.
I'm kinda glad this drawing survived- It's old, but it was a special piece to me, even if I didn't finish it. I'm glad I found it tonight and got all inspired to try to draw it again.
Today has been a good day, I think!
Pile on the Filters!
Yes, this is what happens when I don't feel like actually going through the effort of painting the background I carefully designed.I take a photo and I filter the ever loving crap out of it!
This was me playing around at new colouring techniques. Again, haha.
Eventually I'll find and settle on a method I enjoy and doesn't take me a million years to complete.
So here, I present Tinette! Again! In all her hippy glory.
And a rock.
Just having fun, I still have a couple old files I need to finish.
Spent the entirety of last week booking in fourteen hour days. I was totally exhausted and I think I still am, haha. It doesn't really feel like Saturday, but it feels nice to have remained in bed past seven. Feels nice to do something artistic, even if none of my actual DRAWING drawings are turning out right now.
With that, I shall focus on colouring!
Tadum.

I'm Waiting for Pastry to Thaw.
I haven't been finishing anything lately, so I'm going to drop out some WIP's I got going down! Hopefully by the time I'm finished my puff pastry will be malleable and I can go prepare some dinner. Mmmm, spinach.
SO, first work in progress! I started this one shortly after I finished "Where the Green Things Grow" because Alan's profile was in need of an update.
I like Alan; he's fun, active, even if he is a bit of loser. Alan talks bigger than he is, but there's not much I can do about that.
When I was working on my character profiles, I found it kinda funny that I drew Alan in a city. See, Alan doesn't really like to sit still. He moves around a lot and hates being confined. He spends about 80% of his time outdoors, yet here I drew him, inside of a city.
Yet, I drew Suka, who would prefer nothing than to be safely nestled away indoors away from anything strange and terrifying; in a forest, with a bunch of plants.
I think my characters are trying to tell me something.
This, is one I'm really enjoying so far, I just don't have the time to work on it. I've always loved fireflies, despite the fact that I'm terrified of just about every insect I come across. Yes, even lady bugs. Butterflies aren't too bad though. They don't bite, as far as I know.
Anyways, my friend Chelsea posted a picture online with her and her friend as doggies in a forest of crimson butterflies (I know, she's so cruel) and I was like... I want to paint fireflies.
And so, I started this picture! You can't tell what's really going on, because the line art is lost on the background, but yeah, it's slowly coming together. I still have more light to add, another candle, and a billion fireflies.
I didn't want to draw a typical pose of characters flat out on their backs staring up at the pretty sky, so I spent a while working on the pose. In the end, I wound up stealing the pose from when Chris and I were hanging out at my house once, just chillin' on the bed being cool like that.
I'm really excited to finish this one, like... insanely excited.
My mouse is just slowly working its way across my two screens and I'm not even touching it.
This last one I drew today. Sarah and I are starting another RP, this time giving one we started a long time ago a second go around. We sort of murderized the shit out of it last time. We get some new players this time around, which is pretty exciting! After seeing my old profile pictures I was obligated to make some new ones, the old ones being just.. well, way too gross looking.
I leveled up around January, and these were pre-portfolio pictures, eeewy.
I started with Tinette! One of my personal favourites. Of course, every time I draw her now her hips just keep getting bigger and bigger.. I'm getting way to carried away with curves, BUT SHE'S SO MUCH FUN TO DRAW!!
It seems like Tina's going to have a boyfriend for the first time since she was a teenager. Iiiiinteresting.
Very interesting.
I'm working on Rebel and Ninja next, but so far I'm unhappy with the results. I can't wait to finish these, haha.
