Something Personal!

I haven't had a personalized header on my blog since the first time I signed up on blogger and actually used their stock templates. Suffice to say, I could never navigate anything! With the new template designer it was a little easier- and I finally managed to delete something that was driving me insane. I'm still working on it, but for the time being, I'm okay with this.

I don't have the money to pay for my own domain, so I intend to add a couple buttons and stuff and make my blog mimic a website as best I can.

This is my title page for my-- er, well I guess it sort of speaks for itself, doesn't it? I never really care to put my homework up on my blog because it's just that, homework.

Though if I get a good grade on my next portfolio, I might actually take pictures and show off my lovely life drawings!

Haha, right, Annie can't draw from LIFE.

So here's my picture for my title page, and I was about finished inking when I realized I drew my corset; an article of clothing I promised to never again wear to my life drawing class.

Oh well, I'm very fond of that particular article of clothing, despite the embarrassment brought on by it.

So because I got this idea the other day, and I didn't realize I'd be utilizing it in such a tiny matter, so here's a slightly larger version of my blog header, that I just finished a couple hours ago.

I'm actually fond of it. It's not totally what I had in my head, but I still think it came out quite successful.

I was playing with some texture brushes, just having a good time. It's me sitting under a tree, in what was originally planned to be a forest of light bulbs, but for the sake of a blog header, I simplified it.

I think I might do some writing, perhaps.

SQUIDDY PIECES!

Something I drew Tuesday, and redrew today.

I was pretty happy with the final result!

Donchu mess with Verden.

He is a vampire. He will kick yo' ass.

Verden is my very kind and serious vampire doctor. He's a little senile, as he's been alive for over three thousand years, and can only clearly remember the past two hundred or so. He keeps obsessive journals, detailing every moment of his day, fleshed out with well rendered and realistic drawings of the people and places in his life that he doesn't want to forget.

He has thousands and thousands of journals, going through several a year. The idea is that he never wants to forget anything; but after each journal is written and slipped into his shelf, he never looks at it again. He's forgotten his wife (though he remembers having one), his children, his mother, and why he wanted to be a doctor in the first place.

I love him very much; as he's a total dork. You wouldn't guess it off the bat, but yes, Verden is a big dweeb. Who I luffers to death. And here he is, beating the crap out of some horrible creature that attacked his beloved clinic.

You gotta understand; Verden's very tired, and his work is his life.

I think he'd probably fly into a white rage if someone were to damage his journals, as they are a chronicle of his entire life.

Back in the Day, In a World Far Away

I finished my babies.

Once upon a time, these two were destined to be together. Unfortunately for them, I changed a lot of things as my story grew and evolved and got out of hand.

The way things went is that Suka's family was murdered by a demon when she was younger. Her mother, father, and brother. She escaped at the expense of her older brother, who gave his life to save his little sister.

Suka then escaped further demise by running away and ran into a traveling group of demon slayers (Just recalling all this makes me feel lame). She met a man she immediately attached to as a father figure (replaced now by Dr Verden). And so, Suka grew up, knowing how to beat the crap out of anything that crossed her path. She was seeking revenge for the death of her family, and hunting down the demon who did so. That demon was Eli, of course.

Along her journeys, she was commissioned to rid a village of a particular demon who was robbing their people of their souls, and parading their empty husks around like toys. There was a slight hitch; the demon she was hired to kill, wasn't a demon. Just a confused young man who'd removed and stored his soul away. Suka wasn't about to kill an actual human, so, she forcefully returned his soul to him; and this is how they met.

He wasn't exactly grateful or coherent after being restored, so Suka had to look after him until he was healthy again.

They got attached.

I was sitting at home, swamped in my homework, and I just started to think about it; and I really missed these two. I favoured the weak and pathetic Suka more than I did the strong willed and independent Suka, because one had much more room for character growth, and a much better ending. The only problem was that a weak and afraid Suka couldn't be with Yukio, because I couldn't get her to the point in the storyline where Yukio was waiting. Not on her own, not without help.

Besides, this Yukio was incredibly boring. He's like Rebel is right now; no emotions, no anything, not interesting.

But I do miss them, they were sweet hearts, back in the day.

Oh God

It's awesome when I show somebody a picture and they actually recognize the characters.

Makes me happy!

Anyways, drawing I made during lecture today. I started it yesterday, but for some stupid reason I drew Tinette right over at the far left of my page, and I realized.. Oh hey, Irwin totally isn't going to fit in this picture. So, I drew it again today! Happy me. Just some quick cell shading, nothing special. I forgot how light works, apparently!

Still, I was happy with this sketch, and it was oodles of fun to draw and ink and paint, so I'm good.

Irwin looks like a total rapist, hahahahaha.

Well, he did violate Tina and she's currently ready to rip his head off.

OH NO, I FORGOT THE IRWIN TAIL!

Aw... sadface.

I quite enjoyed this part of the RP, and I wanted to draw it right away, but it took me a couple of attempts.

Sarah's character Iriwin Pavey and my character Tinette, right before Irwin attempts to be respectful and epically fails. And then fails to understand what he did. Character who don't understand social norms are awesome.

I imagine "Oh God," would be the first thing to pass through her mind when she realized what was about to happen.

So, a bunch of us won the White Rabbit Experiment that was running at the school!!

Chelsea found a card inside a bottle with some tea in the caf one day, which is what started the entire thing. After that, she linked us to a blog, which I decided, in the name of puzzles and games, to follow.

The owner of the blog kept on hinting that a final clue was going to be coming up, and that it was going to be for the main prize of the experiment. I didn't know when to expect an update, or even if it was a big deal if I got the update, but I wanted to try my hand at whatever puzzle/riddle they handed over. I quite love puzzles, after all.

Well, the final clue? Wasn't much of a clue at all, sadly. It was a straight out answer. A call number, actually. PR 4611.A553 1955. HM, what does this mean? It means get your ass to the library and look for the pink envelope I was told would be hidden inside a book. Of course, the blog had been updated two hours before the time I checked the post, and I had walked home from my last class of the day and was tired and worn out. What did I do? I texted the call number and instructions to Sarah.

What did Sarah do? She took her friends to the library to follow my instructions and waste some time.

Well, the pink envelope with the eye on the outside was still there! On opening the letter, the main prize was ours.

Right now, all we have is an envelope with some curious items inside.. But we've arranged a time and place to meet up and collect our prize.

I'm wondering about these items. It doesn't so much feel like an ending to me, as there was a little silver turtle, and a calendar for the month of November 09, with no explanation.

We've won the main prize, but is that? Is this game over or is it going to continue? I don't know.

I will find out before long, I'm sure!

Tales of the End of Days

I went to the ROM today to see an exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls. It was really something else, learning about how cultures affected one another, how the way people did things changed over time depending on the circumstances of their life, and seeing the amazing remnants of the past still very much alive and gathered together for us to see under glass.

I love the ROM, I'm a real museum nut, but I don't often get the chance to go to museums, and galleries, and all manner of things that I very much like, because I've never had friends who were interested in that sort of thing, or at least.. not interested in ever having to pay for things.

Seeing the scrolls in person was amazing, reading their translations and being able to get in reeeeeeally close to see the fragments with their beautiful cramped writing, the ink as clear as if it had been written yesterday. The parchment and papers were full of holes for translating, but I loved reading the translation of a bit of parchment that gave hints to the end of days... about the Apocalypse, and how the Lord would come down and would help the poor, restore sight to the blind and bring the dead back to living... It was just really awesome to read, and to think that it was written hundreds and hundreds of years ago, and was hidden in a cave to prevent destruction by the Romans. Gave a bit of a shiver up my spine and I was like... "Oooooooo.... cooooooool!"

There was so much of the ROM TO see, I was a little sad I couldn't just go haywire and run around the museum like the fascinated child in me really wanted to. It's been years and years since I got free range of the ROM (it was my first time inside the new wing, and I'm still not a fan of it. Inside OR out, though I think the original structure still inside the building was very cool), and I got to see the gemstones exhibit, the dinosaur exhibit, the Dead Sea Scrolls, I got a quick look at ancient world artifacts, though we walked through so quickly on our last minute hunt for the Book of the Dead, I was far too fascinated by a line up of flintlock rifles (those things are MASSIVE!!!!!) to really register where we were in the museum. Also got a passing glance of the mammals exhibit, and the awesome gold mosaic tile ceiling that used to be the main entrance of the ROM.

I'm so so so so glad Sarah and her family invited me along!

To the left (and by left I mean right, because I'm ridiculous) I have my drawing of Rebel. I didn't think I was going to finish this today because of the trip to Toronto, and I didn't like the way it was going, and I wasn't very fond of it in general. I don't do very well whenever I draw Rebel, and I really don't know why. He's cautious and thinks about everything he does. He's the counter weight to Ninja, who is very sporadic and doesn't think about anything she does. He's fiercely protective of his little sister (who is really not his little sister, but he raised her since she was practically a baby and that's just how they roll) and normally gets himself injured in the process of saving her from some reckless choice she made. In their story, he actually gets killed because she didn't think her actions through and in saving her.. he took a couple arrows to the back and didn't recover.

After that, Ninja thought a little bit more about her actions and became a little more hardened and stopped treating everything in life like some sort of massive game.

I think I'm going to redraw this picture.. Just because I've finally worked out what I would like this image to look like, and I'm not satisfied with his costume, and there's some anatomy things that are really bothering me.

Anyways, I'm tired. I crashed at like.. 8:12 last night and woke up at 8:30 this morning, I think I'm good to go to sleep again!

I'm out; 11:15

Look, It's A Jacket!

Yukio doesn't normally wear jackets because he can't get them over his arm. Looks like hes found a way around that little problem! Can't imagine his coat being very useful, all pinned up to his shoulder like that...

I've already gushed about as much as I could about how much I love Yukio and how much I love drawing him, but in light of the new RP... I GET TO DRAW HIM AGAIN!!! Muahhahahahaha. I was going to just use my old drawing, but I realized I couldn't because I coloured Ninja and Tinette in a completely different style than the second last picture I drew of this guy.

Coming up with poses that scream "Unstable" are very very hard; this is my latest attempt. You'll notice his legs are in the same position they were last time, with the toes pointed in. He walked a bit like a broken puppet, with twitchy awkward movements and occasional shuffling of feet. His clothes get torn to shit and he doesn't notice, often gets wounded and doesn't notice.. and he's right now covered in blood that isn't his, but belongs to someone else he recently dispatched.

In his defense, he's not really sane. He's still human under all of that! Somewhere.

I didn't draw his weapon again! Ooopsie, though actually I thought about that. Normally his weapon (Which is a blade split down the middle) attaches to his wrist, acting as a further extension to the modification of his arm. On consideration, it's a highly ineffective way to have a weapon, permanently fixed to your hand; and he's right handed anyways, meaning he fights with his weaker hand--

I made it detachable! And he's extremely proud of it.

I don't have any marvelous stories for today! I didn't crash my bike, or get hit by a car, or lose my homework, or even so much trip up a set of stairs.

I think today is going quite well!

My parents are back from Rome. Dad called me yesterday and woke me up from my afternoon nap to ask me how I was doing, and I told him I got hit by a car. He seemed baffled before asking, "How did you get hit by a car!?" Though I bet he hung up the phone and had a good chuckle at it. Only me, right?

Oh yeah, dad called me in the middle of my lecture, where my phone went off and scared the holy bejeebers out of me. I promptly tried to text him to tell him to stop calling, and he called again! Brilliant. My mom wanted to come and visit me tomorrow, but I had to take a raincheck on that because tomorrow I'm going to see the Dead Sea Scrolls tomorrow at the ROM with my friend Sarah and her family. I'm excited! And need to print off that ticket...

Anyways, I'm long overdue for a nap, so I'm going to crash now.

Sliiiiiide To The Right

Had to explain to my teacher today why I missed her class last week. I KNEW she was going to think I was a slacker! Pft.. stupid car. Oh well, she understood, explained to me the homework I missed and what I have to have done for next week (collages) and stuff like that.

SO THERE'S THIS GUY IN MY CLASS... Named Profideus. I don't have any idea if I have the spelling right, but isn't that just the awesomest name?! I thought it was bloody amazing.

If I could just slide everyones attention to the right! I present Ninja. This has to be the first drawing of Ninja that I've actually really really really liked. Normally when I draw my 16 year old hyperactive character... I don't like her. This is perfect! It's got her personality (it was supposed to be the thumb on nose 'Nah nah nah!' but it just looks like a happy wave) in the way she's standing, in her different coloured shoes, her red hair.. You know what, I think it was the outfit I was always drawing her in. This suits her much much better, and I think I'll give her original costume a redesign.

Goes along with the Tinette I posted.. last night? Rebel is next on my list of characters to draw =3 Then Yukio.

For some Experimentation--

*Shrug* I missed Suka, what can I say?

Started as a single doodle, turned into an entire page of Suka's! So I'm scribbling on some colour and collaborating them onto a sheet.

Here she is, in all of her wonderful, shy, glory! Innit she cuuuute?

Anyways, really quick cell shading, nothing special, just playing around as I haven't in a very long time. E-Tab.

Yes.. that's about all I have to say today.

Oooo, I found out when the chef at school asked to look at my sketchbook, "Suka" is slang in Spanish for blonde. As in the stupid ditsy stereotypical kind. I laughed.

BACK TO PAINTING!

I LIKE COLOURING :B

THIS was an experiment in GET-THAT-SHIT-PAINTED!

because I'm tired and want to go to bed twenty minutes ago x3

Don't know why I'm so tired, I just am. Been a stressful day of Mom/dad/sister/brother/cooking/ants.

I've mentioned before how much I love Montague's hair, right? Yeah, I could draw that guy all day if only to have an excuse to play with his hair.

Not 100% happy with this, Suka's face is a bit funny, Monty's head is too large-- which I totally blame on me getting too carried away with the hair (fixed that in my sketchbook when it started to drive me mad). But, regardless, I very much like it x3

Not the final :B which is why I haven't got it up on DA yet, Like I said, it was an experiment in speed, and after goofing off with the hair for a good fifteen minutes, I realized I was tired and whipped the rest together in roughly seven minutes. Talking just the shading here, not the flat colours...

Second drawing of this, I wasn't going to do anything past my first attempt, but after being prodded into showing off the first one I decided.. Yeah, I am SO redrawing that. And I'm glad I did, because it was fun 8D Sat in bed, watched Batman Beyond (Only batman I like even the slightest), and hunched over my my lamp doodling. All was good, until I had to move, at which point I nearly died.

WEEEEE, I'll reopen this and work on it some more tomorrow x3 Have to shade it properly and attempt some form of background, but YAY, had fun.

Art Vomit!

Kinda.. It's another one of those, "Wow, I have a bunch of files I've never done anything with!" Deals.. So I'm DUMPING THEM ALL HERE 8D hahahahaha.

I need a life seriously x3 But I soooo enjoy not having one.

Yeah, scratch that, not having a life makes it so much better x3

So, doodles to the left!! Even though I'm like.. never ever going to get my arse moving on that untitled comic of mine, for some reason I've been working a lot on doodles from it and working on the characters again..Got inspired for some reason x3 Like hell if I know why.

So the one I actually coloured (Hellz yeah, been enjoying the colouring as of late!) I was playing chapter one in my head again last night, and I added a new scene :B and I decided to give this scene a draw on the bus the following morning.

This is the result 8] I'm also going to take the liberty to say it was a shout out at the sudden and temporary wrist injury I gave myself yesterday! Shaking a bottle of paint, something in my wrist went 'Crk' and I was left with a sharp, white hot pain that ran from the underside of my wrist that wrapped right around and down to my elbow any time I rotated my wrist more than ninety degrees from flat. Luckily, by not moving it for hours (clicking and browsing was made very weird) the pain subsided and I have no lingering... effects 8D

Oh yeah, the dude's name is Eli (EE-lye) and... He's got a cru-- He want's Suka, and isn't very subtle about it. Unfortunately in her home world she's lacking the vampire/werewolf protection she gets in the RP, and she doesn't meet goat boy for a time yet >< So she spends a lot of her free time chasing this asshole off, when he's not.. being physically abusive =/ She's wound up with a lot of brusies because of brushes with this guy =[ Suka lacks the fighting spirit to deal with him properly.. Though she does smash a door in his face when he insults her husband 8D *Cheers* go Suka!

Pinks back...

Doodle to the right of the coloured one, I just wanted to draw someone MOVING for the first time in a while x3 SO THERE, very weird.. action pose.

Doodle directly below that, Suka from that nasty green sketchbook I bought, standing in her usual pose with one arm up holding her basket. *mocks*. Wee herb basket =D

To the left I have doodles of Eli.. I was trying to draw the most NOT threatening person I could, cause he's also the biggest ass of a character I've made. Ooooo, oxymoron *waves fingers* So I totally didn't have this sheet on me while I was working on that coloured picture up there ^ SO, he looks different now XD

I like his tail, it's just as handy as another... well another hand I guess... bad pun... He's also REALLY strong D=> Something to do with whatever race he is (Some kind of demon, I'll come up with specifics later) and.. Let's just say I feel bad for Suka.

WEE, I freaking love drawing x3 Daaaaamn, WHY didn't I get into animation D= I could have done so much with all of my characters and crap ><

NEXT YEAR *shakes fist* Oh just you wait, I'LL BLOW YA OUT OF THE WATER

..

Well I'd better.

Busy, yet totally non-productive weekend!

And the last Drawing I managed to pull off this weekend. Which is actually two drawings that I put together, but yeah, you get the gist.

Started as just a drawing of Suka, and I was like.. this is boring, I wanna draw somebody else too! And I was GONNA draw Chase, but I was like... Hmmm... with recent developments as they are... IWANNADRAWVAMPIRE!!!

But, alas, there wasn't enough room on the paper, cause I sorta drew her just.. hovering in the center of the page for some unknown reason. So out came the second sheet of paper!

Damn Sarah and her uber skinny people DX

But Yay for long flow-y silver hair 8D Oh my goodness that was fun >< both to draw and colour. So yeah.. 99% certain I'd shit myself if i ran into this guy in RL. WAY too tall XD way way way way way way way way way way too tall. And creepy. Sure he CAN be a gentleman, but for the most part.. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd just be terrified. And I've decided, yeaaaaah, Suka's not short enough. WELL, at least with Monty I don't have to worry about making her too tall, like I always do with Chase!

Even though I was just bitching a couple paragraphs ago about her uber skinny characters, I had a lot of fun drawing Monty as I caught up on the latest episodes of Supernatural. Ha, oh whoops... I totally forgot about the print on his.. kimono/shirt dealy >< BUT THE HAIR! <3 <3 <3

I'm also getting better at the stick people :B

Take THAT you twiggy bastard.

I was very tempted to paint him with candycane hair =P

Suka's outfit is pink again... WELL YOU KNOW WHAT... I don't really care anymore x3

I love Montague XD nuff said.

Picture dedicated to my very amazing friend Sarah =]

I'm out, tired and gotta sleep x3

Tailgate SMASH

Ta-Da! Something I doodled up quicktime friday during class.. and coloured just now.

I wanted to try some new things out, wanted to try out a cell shading technique, wanted to try coloured lines, just experimenting and having fun.

We're back with the pink! Why? because while I was doodling I totally forgot about her new outfit I designed, and automatically doodled her in her old getup.. with slight modifications. Go me x3

Been working on her story lately (in my head) and I realized something.. I put this girl through a LOT D=>

Really gotta start working on the other characters, so I have somebody else to draw x3

AND FOR THE TITLE OF MY ENTRY! Who's ready for another one of my stories?

So this morning dad and I were driving in to the bus station. It was really slow going, traffic backed up right over the mountain, dad and I took the back roads, skidded a lot on ice, and eventually made it back to civilization. My bus is due in roughly seven minutes, and we're sitting way far back in the turning lane. So we're sitting there, and I'm not overly stressed, my class doesn't start till eleven, and I'm pretty much just handing in my sculpture and boom, I'm done.

We're waiting for the light to turn, when the car in front of us (Blue) decides.. He's had enough, he's got places to go and his time matters so much more than anyone else's. A car drives past my window with a low trailer on it, and the vehicle ahead of us turns sharply and suddenly to switch lanes. I'm looking at the distances, and in my head I'm like,

"You're kidding,"

Blue smashes into the back end of the trailer, knocking the tail light clean off, and I watch in bewilderment as it bounces across the lane, instantly lost from sight. How could he POSSIBLY think he had the space to make that lane change? Hell, even I knew he didn't have the space to make it. He was either really impatient, or the trailer was actually too low for him to see through his mirrors and windows. Or he was just stupid, take your pick.

The funny thing was, neither one of the vehicles bothered to stop, they just kept right on going and were lost to dad and I x3

So yeah, I forgot to share that story today, but dad and I were laughing for the remaining trip to the station, where I make it with a few moments to spare and catch my bus.
