Jessimage and Palidannie

I drew these a few days ago following a conversation Jessica and I had. I was talking about how it'd be fun to live in the world of Harry Potter, but that I wouldn't like that all of my magic use would depend on the use of a wand- and how easily I would lose this wand and be unable to use any magic.

Jessica suggested mages, instead of wizards. I thought it was a great idea, except I'd make a terrible mage. Jessica suggested I'd make a good paladin, with a hammer and a sheild.

I decided I had to draw these things, so I did.

Took me a while, but tadaaa! As usual, just design elements for a background, because I haven't the patience to build a layout for most of my doodles.

Also I built a new portfolio. Please check it out at AnnieMation!

Suka Amaia Timeline

Yaaay, I finished a character timeline, inspired by Jessica! Suka, through the years.

Age five: Suka's parents died before she was old enough to properly remember. She was raised in an orphanage by nuns, until she was adopted at age five by a wealthy trading merchant with no children named Eddison Amaia.

Age thirteen: Long past her terrible sea sickness and horrible fear of strangers, Eddison signed Suka up for sword lessons, to which she practiced many hours a day, every day, since she was nine years old. She shows a lot of talent for it. Suka was introduced to Shaari and Phineas, and became close friends with Shaari, both of them being the only other girl child with which they had much contact with.

Age seventeen: Suka lost her arm when she was fifteen in a display of bravado gone wrong. She gave up her sword that day, and determined she wasn't going to fight again. With her wealthy fathers stores of money, he had a fine prosthetic crafted for her. Later this year Eddison fell ill and passed away.

Age twenty five: Suka has come out on top of all the ups and downs and settled into a life she is happy with. She has her family who she loves dearly and would do anything for, and she has adapted to her knew life almost seamlessly.

It was really fun to draw, I'm glad I did this.

Space Fishing

My life has changed a lot lately, and I feel a little lost. My two best friends have moved out of the town and I miss having them so close by, so I'm watching a LOT of TV and drawing a lot of pictures.

I have some work to do FOR work, and also for my family, but I took the time to put this together because I felt all inspired and stuff.

I might clean up my room- but I also might work on a Vincent drawing as well try working on some thumbnails I'll bring to work tomorrow. Drawerings.

Happy Birthday!

A birthday card I took the time to make for a very dear friend of mine.

It's her birthday today!

I insisted she let me draw her something for her birthday, and she insisted she get nothing and to let me focus on my school work, but seeing as I'm waiting to do the job I was assigned and all other jobs were delegated elsewhere, I found myself with some time to spare, and begged her to give me some thing to draw for her birthday.

Well, Corrin is the best this way, and gave me a large list of things to draw from. On that large list was "A picture of us" and "sailor scouts" and I decided to mash them together.

Picking a single colour for my outfit was incredibly hard. I had to make Jessica do it for me.

Anyways, a gift for a friend I never get to see, but who is moving back before too long, so hopefully I will be able to see her more!

Puffy Pant Parade

The group film is entering it's final stages and getting down to the wire, as I pick up what things I can to work on and help out. I drew these girls during my down time, after watching Aladdin and really wanting to redesign my characters Southern outfit. Jessica suggested I draw all the girls from Bara Terra (I like how I talk about these things as if they're common knowledge) in puffy pants. So I did, starting with Lenore on the left, then Shaari, and lastly Suka.

Not being my designs, Shaari and Lenore had a theme I could fallow, blue and red, but when it came to Suka-- I'm rather bad with colours, you see, and my characters wind up wearing whatever it was I felt like dressing them in. I took her usual outfit, and broke it down, and usually Suka wears creams and neutrals, accented with some kind of colour. I picked the red of her corset, and based the rest of her outfit off of that.

I like flowers, and textures are a pain to place on pale colours.

Anyways, just some free time drawings because I haven't done anything for me in a while.

Sometimes Everyone Is Just Wrong

Still trying to crap out drawings every day between doing nothing and doing homework.

Huzzah.

Alan and his original lady, Suka, in her redesigned glory.

Something is wrong with Alan's face, but I'm honestly not sure what, so I dropped it.
Alan and Shaari, super cute.

I should have painted this one instead.

Left and Right is Hard

I drew this today for a friend who was feeling kinda blue.

I started this, and I worked on it for about an hour an a half until I was finished- and then I realized, "Oh jeeze, I just painted this entire thing without saving, I better do that," and tapped Ctrl+S.

The dialogue box  opened, and I was in the wrong folder, so I was finding my way back in the directory- and the power flicked.

I lost everything. I didn't even save a copy of the sketch.

Well, I threw a right tantrum, and screamed and cussed and cried under my blankets at my terrible luck over the past week, and then between sobs I heated up some soup in the microwave.

Then I decided to commit suicide via ice cream. Oh man, ice cream is so delicious, how can I not be allowed to eat that anymore? I don't know, I ate it anyways.

And then for whatever reason, I opened photoshop again and started painting it from scratch, because I'm apparently a sucker for punishment.

Fortunately this time I saved a million times, and managed to complete the picture, though I'm convinced my first version was cuter.

It baffles me that a program like Word has document recovery, something as ridiculous to use as Flipbook has document recovery, but Adobe Photoshop CS5.5, that runs for thousands of dollars retail, does not.

What the heck Adobe, get with the program.

Anyways, just some cute art of Shaari and Sherry, who are actually in a pose I always meant to draw Ninja and Sherlock in, and then gave to Shaari for some reason... oops?

From Earlier

Hooray, I finished two of the drawings I've done over the past few days!

To the right is my friend Mike, who was the only one who didn't get an avatar portrait six months ago while I was dishing them out.

I figured I should fix that, and so I did. Here is Mike, the brother of the Avatar, going all superman with his air bender tattoos.

He's just that cool.

Everyone loves air benders, right?

Oh right, everyone except non-benders.
And this is Shaari and Alan, meeting in an alternate universe where Alan did not have any of his satyr qualities; an imagined universe he created for himself. He doesn't remember Shaari, but naturally fell in love with her all over again at first sight.

Alan's actually quite a romantic, you see. I figure where he grew up, satyrs aren't really considered a prime catch, and Alan is very used to being rejected, and makes a game out of it.

Shaari on the other hand, isn't put off by his hooves and loves him anyways.

Darnit they're so cute.

I draw Jessica's characters a lot.

Sketches Everywhere

I have been SCANNING ALL EVENING.

Okay so, I tried to break this up into two chunks so hopefully it'll upload okay- to the left I have every sketch or drawing I've done related directly to Pirates- and also Alan's parents because oops.

Well Alan wasn't in my other sketch dump at all, so I figured it would be best to include his parents with him, where they belong.

Okay so, we have... couples, couples, couples, couples, portraits, couples, couples, and more couples.

I draw a lot of couples.

Yes I draw other things.
AND THEN, everything else I draw! Because yes, I draw more than just pirates, as much as I love them.  I have couples, couples, couples, and more couples.

I'm sensing a trend.

A lot of Ninja's in this second batch- she's been the focus of my attention lately, because I think she's awesome. We have some Piqa, Sherry, Eli, Kara, and Ainmire in there as well. Oh and me, with a couple pieces from my style meme before I chop my hair off tomorrow and have to figure everything out anew.

Awesome, all of my drawings from what has to be the last four months or so.

The Merciful

Another pirate.

An idea I got while crumpled face down on my mat at yoga.

Lenore is Jessica's character again, who had been speaking to my character Lance about being a pirate and sailing under blood red sails.

I really love Lenore's design, she was super fun to age up and turn into something new.

Weee.

Yes it's cliche, no I don't care.

I Didn't Die

I promise I haven't died!

I've just been really busy from school and it's been burning me right out.

I drew this little doodle today, and I actually finished colouring it!

Just something quick and fun, because I've been losing motivation and I suddenly got inspired to finish it all.

Sherry is mine, Shaari is Jessica's, and I love them very much.

Ice verses Fire

I haven't really had any time to work on something for myself lately; I've been so busy doing work for school, I forgot what it felt like to just do something fun.

That being said, I sat down tonight after classes, and I drew this. I really liked it, it turned out cute and made me smile, even though I made it.

Lenore on the left is Jessica's character, who I've only drawn once before, while Ninja is mine. Lenore has some hidden magic abilities, over ice? I think? I'm not entirely sure to be honest, but she has magic powers. Ninja has powers over fire, but Ninja isn't able to control her powers- her powers were latent for most of her life, so she never learned the appropriate discipline to control it.

I know in a fight there aren't many people who would stand much of a chance against Ninja, simply because she can't control her flames. They get away from her, and she is immune to the heat. I didn't want to draw Ninja wiping Lenore of the map, so I thought about this cute little interaction of their opposite abilities instead.

Yay, cute things. I miss drawing.

Space Taxi

I haven't drawn a couple pose in a few months, so I decided yesterday that today I would draw Phineas and Suka.

Well, as I was hacking away at benders, I got the sudden, very desperate need to draw cute stuff.

And so I did.

So here is Suka and Phineas, bein' cute and snuggly, on a space taxi, after a fancy evening.

In other words, Suka drank too much and needed to be carried home and Phineas is super happy to do so.

D'aw. Couples.

I love drawing couples.

Splash of Water

I'm in the process of making a lot of these...

So this is a portrait of my exceptionally pretty friend Jessica Channer as a water bender! I took the reference from the Southern Water Tribe, but eh, specifics, I don't have them.

You'll notice she's white, even though water benders from the South and North pole are not white.

Can't say I really care all that much, haha.

Next up I've got some more fire benders on the way as well as an earth bender- I stumbled in a bit over my head with the avatar drawings, and now everyone from work wants one too, haha.

Ah well, it's nice to have ideas again.

Here you go Jessica, hope you like it!

I'm usually in bed by now.

Suave

Woo, finished my second art trade of the summer! And damn, did he fight me the whole way through.

I have a hard time with skinny characters, be they my own, or other people's.

When I was asked to draw Laurent as "suave" I must've looked at three hundred pictures of Fred Astaire. I'm a huge fan of Fred Astaire, and I don't think anything quite hits 'suave' as clearly as Fred Astaire.

Except George Clooney of course, who is awesome.

I PRESENT TO EVERYONE, Laurent. Impossibly fussy, whiny, prince.

Laurent belongs to Sarah, who is drawing me a picture of Kara in return!

Jessica finished this awesome picture of Ninja for me today!!

I love Ninja a lot, I really do, and even though she drives me crazy, I feel like she doesn't get enough love, so I was super happy that I asked Jess to draw her for me.

Hee, freckles.

Ninja's awesome, and Jessica has such pretty art.

The Rat

Uh.. so Blogger changed, huh?

I sense I'm going to be hearing from my parents.

Anyways, I drew a picture today, because I had no ideas, was super antsy, and needed something to do. I asked Jessica if she wanted to trade with me because the things I was supposed to be working on weren't coming together.

That being said, here's Rin, everyone!

I had a lot of fun drawing her, despite how hard I find thin people to draw. Hope Jess likes her.

I had a lot of fun creating the background, with some stock paper and a bunch of space brushes. Yay.

Jessica left literally minutes before I was finished Rin, so I'll post it here, and she can get it later.

Think I'll make something to eat for dinner and go to bed.

Days of our Lives

Tada! I got inspired today in class to draw me some Alans, and it started with a picture of my OC with his head stuck in a fence.

I'm so mean.

At least Alan takes it all in good humour.

Anyways, I always liked these age meme things, and I haven't done one in a while, so I thought I'd sit down and work on it. I finished teenage Alan and adult Alan today after school, and it was really fun to be able to dedicate a bit of time to something I wanted to work on.

I don't have the time to ink them and paint them and make them all look awesome- but I could add flats and accents and make it sort of half decent to view.

Not very good at drawing children, but I think my kid Alans turned out pretty decent!

Teenage Alan also had me in a fit of giggles as I was designing his ridiculous hair and scraggly goatee. I'm going to bed to read until I pass out. I'm going to catch up to Jessica, so help me god.

Some Snugglin'

I came home today and did some math and realized something: I'm poor.

So if you could all venture on up to the top right hand button on this page and click on it, I'd be much obliged.

Commissions are open everyone!

To the right I present a picture I drew today in an attempt to get out of my art rut. I'm pretty happy with it. Alan is my character, and Shaari is Jessica's character. In case you couldn't guess, Alan's the dude with the horns and Shaari's the girl. You can tell because she has boobs.

Waiting with bated breath for Miranda to update her blog!

Ninja Loves All

Well, a storm took the liberty of stealing away my blog update, my photoshop file, and my word file.

Thank you storm.

Anyways- just a drawing I drew today of my character Ninja and Jessica's character Phineas.
Link
Ninja loves everyone in the world, but none as much as her brother. She's been separated from her brother, but Phineas makes a fine replacement.

I'm not sure how long Phineas can stand up to a ninety pound projectile constantly launching itself at his back.

Been struggling a lot in my work again. Not because I don't like it, because I do, but I feel like I'm not taking things as far as they can go. I'm not pushing the boundries I want to be pushing. I'm not taking actions as far as they could go.

I'm probably going to constantly redraw this same picture over the years until I get it right; and one day I might. I feel like it's going to be one of those pictures I forever think about and wonder, "Maybe I can do it now."

Much like this drawing, or this one.

Sorry Jess, I hope you're prepared to see this randomly pop up again three years from now.

Ah well, what is life if not a journey of discovery?

I'm excited to see where this stands in a few years.

Piles of Papers

As promised, I am continuing in my efforts to sketch more! As such, I have many more drawings than I typically do for an upload, and as such, I have broken it into many sketch dumps.

Instead of one giant one that gets resized into something you can't see.

In this pile of drawings we have some Sukas, some Jorns, some Tinas, and an Ainmire!

I did so miss my scottish oaf. I've gotten better at drawing him as the muscled man he is, which makes me happy because he no longer looks like a teenager. He looks like a good and proper twenty something or probably older. When I drew Baeddan this round I made him far too large. Eventually I'll get it right.

I have come to the realization that though Tinette is not overly fond of other people, she does like animals, and likes to take care of them. She has very few hobbies- she can't sew, or cook, or sing, or do any number of things she should be able to do because she was born into a family with many servants. I had a fun time coming up with hobbies; Dancing, fighting, horseback riding, reading, piano...

Yay!

And here I doodled some characters in their back stories, the other characters they happened to interact with, lalala-

This sketch dump is actually older than the one I already submitted. I drew Tinette and Jessica asked me if she was angry. I said yes. She said of course she's angry, because Tinette is always angry.

And so I started my mission to make her happy, which led to me drawing her with my first attempt at a horse.

Animals! They make even the worst people happy.

Shaari and Suka as kids, Phineas as a young adult and Suka as a teenager, Ninja with her new BFFL Jorn, and HUGS ALL AROUND!

Don't hugs just make you feel warm and fuzzy inside?

We had a lot of drama going down. It was going to end in hugs.

I'm not finished with this one, I don't think, which is why it isn't in any of the sketch dumps even though it's the oldest. I drew it reminiscent of a picture I drew a long time ago and was very fond of.

I'd like to colour it the same way, so they can sit side by side, like in a card set or something.

I have to ink it first though, ah ha!

I'm pretty sure I inked the last one digitally- but I'll probably do this one traditionally. It's easier, heh.

I think Suka and Phineas are adorable, but in a complicated spot. Suka still cares for Phineas, obviously, but she's given him up as a lost cause as far as relationships go- but Phineas on the other hand... well, he's got a ways to go.

The other day Sarah challenged me to draw some elemental ladies. After dicking around and ignoring said suggestion for a few hours, I decided I might as well, and I was having quite a lot of fun with them.

I only finished three, as I initially drew earth stick thin, and I don't know what I was thinking. I wanted earth to be heavy and real feeling, weighted with all the earth beneath our feet and trees above our heads. I made her really thin along the thought process of trees themselves- but earth needs to be everlasting, and needs to look capable of being such.

Fire was smokin' hot, of course, with a thin waist and giant hips and big boobs with crazy wispy flaming hair, and water needed to be soft looking. So I drew my favourite kind of figure ever; a tubby one.

Oh yeah, I love drawing heavier people. And now all I have left is air!

Once again, following the suggestion of my roomie, I drew myself as an element from her comic, the Awakened. We'd already determined last year that if I was any element, I'd be the element of rainbows, because I dress in fifty million different colours at the same time.

So, when I designed my human form, I just drew me, as I am every day. When I designed my personification, I was initially going to draw myself as my business card logo, which is a boar wearing a hat, scarf, my glasses, my earrings, with my hair, etc-

But instead I decided to go a little simpler, and took a boar, gave it some wings, added some bracelets, and as a final touch, added a scarf. My personification is a flying pig with a scarf made of rainbows! When it flies across the sky it leaves rainbows in its wake, like Nyan-cat. Only nyan-boar.

Yaaay!!!

Many many many drawings. Sketchbook cleanout!
